With guitars surrounding you on every side, there&#8217;s no knowing where the next note will come from. Melodies get passed around one note at a time from player to player, making for a thrilling multi-stereo effect \u2013 360 degrees of music \u2013 which cannot be heard anywhere else. The rotating repertoire includes original compositions, improvisations, as well as circular arrangements of music by various artists, ranging in genre from classical to progressive rock.<\/p>\n<p>This season Tuning the Air will feature an expanded performance team; now 10 guitarists. Electric guitarist and texturist Joel Palmer continues to provide pre-show music as well as contributing to the show. Several performances will include guest artists: oboist Darlene Franz will be performing opening night, and guitarist Tony Geballe will be sitting in for the first two shows of the season. At mid-season Tuning the Air will present a show featuring students from one of the Seattle Circle Guitar School\u2019s classes; as many as 20 4th graders serving as the \u201copening act\u201d for the show.<\/p>\n<p>Every Thursday, February 10  through June 30*<br \/>\n8 pm, doors open at 7:45<br \/>\nFremont Abbey Arts Center<br \/>\n4272 Fremont Ave N, Seattle<br \/>\n$10 at the door<br \/>\nwww.tuningtheair.com<\/p>\n<p>For opening night, and on selected nights throughout the season, the Fremont Abbey Arts Center Caf\u00e9, downstairs from the Great Hall, will be open from 7pm for your enjoyment before the show.
